ABOUT

Loraine Fajutag is an experienced  graphic designer with over 15 years’ in the industry. She has worked at some of the UK’s most prestigious magazines, agencies and publishers, working in print and digital.

As Senior Designer at GLAMOUR, Loraine had a crucial support role to the Art Director and Art Editor, and had to work in a highly pressurised environment to produce considered and high-quality content, with a fast turnaround. While at GLAMOUR, Loraine mentored the junior members of the art team, to develop their skills and confidence – something she relished, and which helped her become an accomplished team leader while adhering to tight deadlines.

As Art Editor on Condé Nast Brides, she was faced with the challenge of making a niche subject feel new, fresh and dynamic. As part of a small team, Loraine’s input in to the creative content of the UK’s leading bridal title was vital, from originating visual concepts to liaising with suppliers (cake-makers, florists etc), photographers and stylists, and art directing shoots.

From Brides, Loraine moved to Sainsburys magazine to become Art Editor. Loraine was tasked with creating pages that were as aspirational as they were functional. She produced inspiring and beautifully designed pages and supported the Art Director in the daily production of the magazine.

Loraine then moved into the world of freelance, working at The Sun's Fabulous magazine, Hello's fashion magazine, Penguin random house, Ink Publishing and the River Group. She was frequently booked by the River group where Loraine art directed and designed the Dare Special Editions and Cunard magazine. At Ink, Loraine worked on Easy Jet magazine, as well as helping their commercial department and at Penguin Random House, Loraine worked within the digital division.

Loraine is currently Head of Print at Telegraph Spark, The Telegraph’s branded content department. She was quickly promoted to Head of Print in December 2019 to cover maternity leave, after only joining as senior designer in March 2019. As well as producing a wide range of eye-catching layouts for different clients, Loraine also heads up pitches and manages a team of two.

From photography and art direction to illustration and prop making, Loraine has a true passion for all aspects of design. She is well versed in commissioning photographers and illustrators, as well as leading a busy art department, ensuring compelling, dynamic creative content.
